Overview

2nd shift, 3p-11p, Mon- Fri

or

3rd shift, 11p-7a, week starts Monday night

 

Pay:

2nd shift: $20.90 + .50 shift differential = $21.40

3rd shift: $20.90 + .75 shift differential =$21.65

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable PPE and Food Safety policies and procedures, wear steel tipped shoes, hearing protection, safety glasses, hairnets, beard nets, etc.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Ensure necessary tools, supplies and parts are available and ready for use.
  • Load and thread material onto the equipment.
  • Prepare and install machine tooling (Teflon, rubber, etc.)
  • Prepare documentation as required.
  • Perform machine setup.
  • Monitor quality (dimension, cut position, seals, perforation, zipper, glue, etc.); obtain QA approval before and during the run as may be specified.
  • Perform quality checks (drop test, leak, vacuum, etc.)
  • Coordinate work of assigned Bag Machine Helper and actively communicate with the Bag Catcher to guarantee quality output.
  • Ensure productivity targets are met.
  • Prepare work area and materials for the next job.
  • Perform assigned preventive maintenance tasks.

Qualifications

When your expertise drives us:

  • Reading and writing skills corresponding to the level of High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • 1-3 year’s experience as a Bag Machine Helper or Bag Catcher with a demonstrated understanding of machine operation and factors affecting quality, waste, and productivity.
  • Possess an understanding of the materials and structures used in production and the factors causing common defects.
  • Comfortable with the operation of Machine Control Setup systems.
  • Ability to use hand tools and measuring instruments.
  • Ability to read and understand work orders.
  • Ability to distinguish between color matches through visual inspection
  • Ability to perform calculation involving decimals and fractions
  • Ability to read a ruler
  • Mechanical aptitude.
  • Customer oriented
  • Motivated and collaborative within a team environment
  • Must be able to problem solve and communicate/coach effectively. ▪ Good work ethic, attendance, and punctuality
