We are currently looking for a Press Helper to assist Press and Laminator Operators in the daily running of our equipment. Successful candidates would help to produce a quality product while maintaining production performance. This would include troubleshooting print defects and minor machine problems, reporting statistical process control data on the main attributes of the order being produced, continually monitoring quality for all orders produced, and data entry pertaining to the issue of raw materials.  

Schedule: Must be available to work all 3 shifts (7a-3p, 3p-11p and 11p-7a)

 

Compensation: $21.62-$23.57/hour depending on experience, shift differential available.

Responsibilities

When your actions lead to success:

  • Assist in the set-up of orders in an efficient manner to sustain production standards and to maintain production schedules issues to the Manufacturing Departments.
  • Troubleshot minor process failures
  • Check and record viscosity of ink and overprint lacquers.
  • Issue and record raw materials.
  • Assist Operators in the daily operation of the equipment.
  • Report any equipment or material problems immediately for prompt correction of problem.
  • Support and contribute to a healthy and safe work environment by following all workplace regulations, policies, and initiatives, including reporting all first aid injuries, accidents, and workplace hazards.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 
  • Upholds all ethical standards associated with safety, quality and food safety policies and procedures within the facility, including the TC Transcontinental Code of Conduct and values.
  • Complies with all the standards that are followed in the TC Battle Creek plant, including, but not limited to-Health, Safety, Wellness (HSW), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Safe Quality Food (SQF), Continuous Improvement (CI) and any other processes established within the TC Huntley plant.
  • Responsible for reporting all safety, quality, and food safety problems to personnel with authority to initiate action.
  • Performs other duties as requested or assigned.
  • Performs responsibilities to expected outcomes.
  • Communicates openly, truthfully, and compassionately with respect for individual differences. 
  • Identify issues and problems within manufacturing and quality processes. 
  • Work with the Supervisor/Manager to define and resolve problems, as well as recommend improvement processes.
  • Maintains a neat and orderly work area.
